We
install and maintain Access Control Systems and Door Entry Systems
for commercial premises and residences.
Access
Control Systems can provide a convenient and cost effective means of
restricting access to callers who have been identified and/or to
authorised users. The design of the system must take into account the
type of use which can be expected and the level of security required.
The system must be practical and easy to use and care must be taken
to ensure that accidental lock-outs cannot occur and that the system
does not impede exit from the premises in the event of a fire or
emergency evacuation.
Door Entry
Systems provide an intercom between the outside unit and a handset.
Handsets can be incorporated in different areas such as individual
flats. A door release can be included which can allow the caller to
be admitted at the push of a button. Video Door Entry Systems include
a camera in the outside unit and monitors incorporated in the handset.
Digital Code
Systems can simply release the locking device when the correct code
is entered. They can also be an integral part of a Door Entry System
to allow authorised users access.
Proximity
Systems provide a higher level of security. Authorised users can gain
access using a card or a fob which can be 'voided' in order to bar
access to a specific user. Again, an intercom system with or without
C.C.T.V. can be incorporated for visitors if appropriate. Magnetic
cards are like credit cards and have to be passed through a slot in
the reader. Proximity cards or fobs are passed close to the reader
and with the fobs being extremely durable and passive (no batteries)
the additional outlay can prove worthwile in the long run.
Card and
proximity systems can be enhanced with the introduction of a P.C.
which can be used for programming, validating, voiding and recording
use of cards or fobs to gain access through specific doors logging
date and time etc. A system incorporating a P.C. can provide an easy
solution where a large number of doors or users is specified.
